Mother's Day morning - a busy morning for me! I was smoking brisket and pork butt all night to get have a good Mother's Day for my wife. The 5:30 AM wake up time - needed to check on the smoker, 1 brisket down - 40 minutes later, 2nd brisket down! still had about 2 hours left on the pork butts. Next task, clean the pool and get it ready for the activities later in the day - sweep it, skim it, backwash it and drop in the robot - pool clean, check. Next task, mow the back yard - when I was in the process of getting my ZeroTurn, I ran into this little guy walking in front of my shop door:

This is an Eastern Box Turtle, this little guy was having a morning adventure, more than likely heading to the stream that runs behind the shop, was traveling as close to the door as he could - and of course he was right in my way from getting the needed equipment out of the shop! I to advantage of the situation, took some quick pictures, and then went into the shop. When I opened the shop door, this little guy had only made it about halfway of the distance of the door. I took some time to do a couple of other things - but he was moving at a turtles pace - so I picked him up and moved him into the grass on the other side of the shop door - just sped him up on his way to his destination. He was pretty relaxed when I picked him up, and he only hissed at me for a second. Then I was back on task - got the ZeroTurn and mowed the back yard!

Yard finished, now it was time to pull the pork butts off of the smoker - 16 hours!
The day was awesome for my wife - success!
